This excellent piece of Max Payne 3 Fan art was created by Eliant. K100, longtime PayneReactor fan and supporter, recently discovered the art and wanted to share it with us. The piece is really marvelous and was created using Adobe Photoshop. Click the image below for a bigger version. Thanks K100!
I hereby present you the poll results of the second poll on PayneReactor. The poll ran for the entire month of February 2014. The question featured was: “Which Max Payne game is your favorite?”. Readers could choose between A) “Max Payne”, B) “Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne” and C) “Max Payne 3”.
A whopping 32 votes were cast! Almost three times the number of votes from January’s poll. 25% of the votes were cast on answer A, Max Payne. 35% of the votes were cast on answer B, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. 40% of the votes were cast in favor of answer C, Max Payne 3. It looks like the fans are loving Max Payne 3 more than many of us thought but the game is closely followed by its predecessor.
Also, announcing the new poll that will run this March: “Which Max Payne villain is your favorite?” Vote now on your answer in the Poll section on the right of this screen!
And now for something completely different! Watch this video to be blown away by this guy’s talent to impersonate Jeff Bridges, Steve Buscemi and Charlie Sheen. These impressions are spot on! He even looks like Sheen as well. Don’t know if that’s a good thing nowadays though :P
IGN managed to get a first look at Homeland’s Rupert Friend as Agent 47. I reported on the casting of Friend a few weeks ago, and production now appears to be rolling. After the unfortunate death of Paul Walker, Rupert Friend was cast as the title character of the sequel to 2007’s Hitman. Also attached to the movie are Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) and Hannah Ware. I’m very curious where this is going. I dislike the still visible hairline on Friend’s head, yet his likeness seems more to that of 47 than Oliphant’s. (Click image below for a bigger version).
A few days ago Martin Matthews published his novelization of Max Payne on the Remedy Forums. The book is a project he worked on several years ago and chronicles the events of the first game. Here’s an excerpt of the first chapter:
To make any kind of sense of it, I need to go back three years. Back to the night the pain started. I was still in the force, NYPD, Manhattan, Midtown North Precinct. Hell’s Kitchen. Another life. Another me, now unrecognizable. The precinct was a morgue. Most of the guys had already knocked off for the day. Some had gone on to happy hour down at Cuffs—a local dick dive I hadn’t spooked since making a desk—to drown the horrors. Others had gone home to their families and I had cast-iron plans to do likewise.
Without spoiling anymore, you can see the novel is an excellent combination of memorable lines we come to love and new material. Read and download the novel at scribd.com by clicking this link. Leave a comment below to inspire Matthews to novelize the second game as well.
