If you are following the Remedy social channels, you are undoubtedly familiar with Uuno the dog. A Twitter post about the dog wearing motion capture markers went viral and soon after the world fell in love with Uuno. At Remedy, employees are allowed to take their dogs to work every now and then. When the cinematography & Animation team had some spare time and a desire to experiment, they started capturing the motions of Uuno.
Many were wondering what Remedy’s intentions exactly were and if it was connected to the mysterious, unrevealed, Project 7 videogame. Vida Starcevic who recently joined Remedy as Associate Community Manager was approached by Gamasutra to explain one another.
“We had a dog, a mocap studio, and some spare time. So we thought, why not? People wanted to know who the dog was. They were speculating that we’re working on a John Wick game.” Starcevic said.
Apart from the story behind the viral post, Remedy was also kind to share some of the actual mo-cap data footage. The video gives more insight in how the animation process comes together. A truly interesting read. Click here to read the full article on Gamasutra.
