Great news for players who’re keen to experience other Remedy games now that Control is out. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will be free for a limited amount of time on the Epic Games Store (EGS) starting next week!
Only a few months after Alan Wake went free on EGS, Remedy fans can now complete their Alan Wake collection on PC at zero cost. In Alan Wake’s American Nightmare our titular hero fights the herald of darkness, the evil Mr. Scratch! While not a sequel per se, American Nightmare does continue the story of the now missing writer, who has been stuck in an alternate reality ever since his first adventure.
A thrilling new storyline, hordes of creepy enemies, serious firepower and beautiful Arizona locations, combined with a fun and challenging new game mode make this a must for Alan Wake veterans, and the perfect jumping-on point for new players.
The time period to get this game for free is usually short, so keep a close eye on the game’s store page to make sure you’ll not be missing out or pay close attention to our Twitter! Together with Observer, American Nightmare will be free starting October 17!
Remedy has mentioned that if the time is right, they would still consider creating a proper sequel to Alan Wake. That became even more likely after Remedy acquired the publishing rights from Microsoft earlier this year. Remedy’s latest game, Control, is connected in various ways to the Alan Wake universe which leads to fans to believe the franchise is all but dead.
