Here’s one to make you feel old; later this month Max Payne 3 will celebrate its 10th anniversary! Oh boy. Contrary to our titular hero, time moves forward anything but slowly! To celebrate the milestone, Rockstar Games announced over at the Rockstar Games Newswire they will release an Anniversary Edition of the Max Payne 3 soundtrack. This new version of the iconic soundtrack will debut unreleased tracks of the game. Coming later this year, the new album will release as a limited-edition vinyl and on digital streaming platforms.
The Max Payne 3 soundtrack was created by LA noise rock band Health, delivering a dark and industrial sound to the Max Payne series. The soundtrack was praised by many critics, including us. We’ve even written an editorial piece back in the day that explains more about the technology behind the game’s soundtrack and how the game mixes so-called “stems” to make sure the sound always fits the action on screen.
With the Max Payne remakes announced last month, and the Max Payne 3 anniversary celebrations, Max Payne is finally back. We’re excited, to say the least!
