In the wake of the global pandemic, many of us are stuck at home – isolated from our friends and loved ones. Rest assured that both I and people dear to me are in good health and I sincerely hope you are too. Current affairs might also be though to cope with mentally. A lot of folks find comfort in videogames and online interaction. As a result of COVID-19, movies and games that were planned to release this year have been postponed. One of those games is The Last of Us 2. Someone was not happy about that.
The Last of Us 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to, what many consider, one of the best games released last generation. The Last of Us struck a chord with many of us and has proven once again that interactive media can provide some of the most moving experiences when compared to books or film. If the narrative remains unspoiled that is.
Earlier this morning, enormous The Last of Us 2 leaks started to emerge online. Presumably by someone (with) close (ties) to the studio. All major plot twists and story beats are now out in the wild and while Sony’s people are probably on it like Ninja’s. You’ll want to steer away from anything remotely affiliated with The Last of Us, Naughty Dog, or PlayStation in general. Many social media feature support for filters. Now is the time to enable those if you’d like to preserve your experience and go in fresh and unspoiled.
The people at Naughty Dog have put their hearts and souls into this game. Not a single dispute or shitty situation is a valid argument to justify an action like this. It’s disrespectful towards the developer and towards millions of people around the world eagerly awaiting to continue this adventure. I’m deeply saddened by this and can’t imagine how many who worked on the game must feel right now. For what’s it worth, I’m sorry. I hope this article might raise awareness to help prevent people from getting spoiled. That’s the least I can do.
