If you’ve been following the site and my Twitter recently you are aware the last of the three announced Control live streams took place yesterday. Remedy’s Associate Community Manager Vida Starčević once again hosted the stream and was joined by Thomas Puha (Communications Director) and Mikael Kasurinen (Game Director). During this stream the team played through the fourth mission of the main campaign called “Marshall”.
During the stream the team once again gave insight in various design challenges and how creative ideas were manifested in the game. Most interesting though, apart from various new locations and items that were being shown, the team also gave some more details about the game’s narrative.
Control’s narrative will heavily focus on Jesse’s transformation to becoming the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Control. As soon as the old Director dies and the Hiss has invaded the premises, one of her first tasks is to “assemble a management team”. Since the board members apparently are scattered throughout the building, she needs to seek them out in various sections and recruit them.
The whole stream can currently be watched for a limited amount of time on Remedy’s Twitch. As with previous streams, Remedy usually also uploads these to their YouTube for archiving purposes. When that happens we’ll embed the video below. There are no more streams planned now (as far as we know) but since feedback from the community was very positive it’s likely there will be more of these in the future. During the stream, Remedy teased a new Dev Diary about the game’s music is to release soon. So we have something to look forward to!
