Key cast members along with the Creative Director of Control, Sam Lake, made an appearance at the New York Comic Con last night. Included in the panel next to Lake were Courtney Hope (Quantum Break), James McCaffrey (Max Payne) and Matthew Porretta (Alan Wake). To those that couldn’t make it to the event, rest assured. We’ve been told the whole panel session was recorded and will be uploaded later. Still curious to know what all went down? Below is a little recap that will help you catch you up to speed.

The event took place at the Javits Center. Lake and Hope were present some time in advance to meet with various press. With the event focusing heavily on the game’s characters and cast, it’s safe to assume the interviews and panel discussions mostly revolved about character motivations and experiences. As the team moved on with the panel, a new Dev Diary video was shown. The fifth one, if you’ve been counting, focuses on how the character of the Old Director – Zacharia Trench – came to be and where Lake drew his inspirations for this man from. A familiar source!
James McCaffrey is featured in this video as well so fans of Max Payne should definitely check this one out. Right after McCaffrey, Hope explains how Trench is effecting Jesse Faden in the world of Control and why she’s weary of her environment. Remedy did announce this Dev Diary was a shorter version (3 min) of the one that’s to come next week (10 mins), which leads us to believe some unannounced/interesting things are left out.
Last but not least, it’s a custom for these panels to close with a Q&A along with the chance to collect autographs. Remedy provided fans with unique postcards in order to do so and 10 randomly selected attendees were given a unique Control snapback.
In closing, for those that are using social media accounts such as Twitter and Instagram, you might want to start following all Control related accounts. Various members from the cast and crew are not shy in providing some BTS-material that is often not featured in any other channel.
