As we’re headed into February, exciting times are ahead! You might recall February 10 marks the release of CrossfireX. That date was announced two months ago during The Game Awards. It’s been a bit quiet around the game since, but it seems the marketing train is back on its rails! Smilegate announced today by tweet the game is available for pre-load! That means players who pre-ordered the game can download the necessary files to play to their console in advance. When the game releases, you will be ready to play right away.
Announced in the same tweet, one of the game’s operations (the single player content by Remedy) will be included in Xbox Game Pass. Those with the subscription service can play this content at no additional charge. Presumably to give them a taste of the action and encourage them to buy the remaining content. That being said, it’s still Ana amazing gesture and the perfect chance for us Remedy fans to get a taste of their first attempt at creating a first-person shooter!
If case you’ve missed it, the narrative of CrossfireX is set during a global conflict between two mercenary factions: Global Risk and Black List. Agents for Global Risk use advanced tech and weaponry to keep control and order, while Black List’s mercenaries are looking to disrupt and undermine Global Risk’s plans.
