It’s been another thrilling week for Remedy Entertainment! The studio shared some exciting announcements and updates during its Capital Markets Day. Let’s break down everything you might have missed!
Control Ultimate Edition coming to Mac on February 12, 2025
great news for Apple Mac owners! Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control Ultimate Edition will officially land on Mac on February 12, 2025! This award-winning action-adventure game has been snagging awards since its 2019 release, earning over 80 accolades.
The Ultimate Edition bundles the base game, both expansions, and all post-launch updates. If you haven’t played it yet, you’ll step into the shoes of Jesse Faden as she explores the eerie and fascinating Federal Bureau of Control. Expect mind-bending environments, telekinetic powers, and weapons that morph as you face off against otherworldly enemies.
Spotted during Remedy’s Capital Markets Day presentation, this Mac version will likely require an M-series chip to handle the game’s demanding physics and visuals—though official system specs haven’t been announced yet.
Control 2 will be an Action-RPG
Remedy also hinted at ongoing work on Control 2, revealing it will take the form of an action-RPG. While the studio hasn’t shared any specifics yet, it’s likely the sequel will build on the loadout customization features that fans loved in the original.
Control to get additional content via update in 2025
A free update is coming to Control in early 2025, unlocking some previously released content for all players. While Remedy hasn’t revealed exactly what will be included in the update, we believe it could involve previously exclusive preorder bonuses, like unique skins or the special side mission featuring none other than Hideo Kojima!
For those who missed out, this mission features the legendary game creator as the voice of a mysterious NPC in a surreal and mind-bending segment. Worth checking out!
Alan Wake 2 sold 1.8 million units!
Another highlight from the company’s Capital Markets Day was the announcement that Alan Wake 2 has sold an impressive 1.8 million units—a staggering milestone! It’s fantastic to see so many fans diving into the adventures of our troubled, light-wielding hero. With numbers like these, we can only hope this success paves the way for a full trilogy!
