Yesterday was the last day of E3 2019 and even though events were wrapping up there’s still a lot to talk about. Firstly, it’s a common thing for gaming media to awards promising our outstanding games with awards so their readers know what games to look out for. During the course of the event, Control managed to snag over 15 awards! Astonishing. Gamespot was the first to hand out their “Best of E3” award and was quickly followed by IGN and Eurogamer. The Remedy team was overwhelmed by all the positive feedback and remained incredible humble and gracious. Here’s a photo of Sam Lake (Creative Director) in front of all the awards which he shared on his Twitter.
Moving on to the E3 Coliseum. The E3 Coliseum is a spectacular main stage that aims to bring video game fans closer to their favorite games and creators. As for Remedy, they brought Mikael Kasurinen (Game Director), Brooke Maggs (Narrative Designer) and Courtney Hope (Jesse Faden) to the stage to talk a bit more about Jesse Faden and her origins. During their talk with Alanah Pearce (who interviewed the cast and crew) various segments of gameplay are shows, with some never seen before bits right near the end. The content is light on spoilers (as they reveal more about Jesse’s motivations and backstory) so be warned when pressing below play button to re-watch the show.
As the Remedy team will now undoubtedly take a few days of well-deserved rest, they will quickly be heading home to finish up Control for release on August 27.
