Remedy has revealed an impressive new milestone for their latest videogame, Alan Wake 2. As published on their investor’s website, Alan Wake 2 has sold 1.3 million units as of the beginning of February 2024. The game surpassed the 1 million units mark by the end of December 2023. These staggering sales numbers make Alan Wake 2 Remedy’s fastest-selling videogame to date. Strong proof of the game’s strong visual presentation, refined gameplay, and horror elements is being liked by fans and gamers alike.
Remedy’s CEO Tero Virtala commented on the news: “We are happy with the start of Alan Wake 2’s sales. The price point has also remained at a high level, and the game has already recouped a significant part of the development and marketing expenses. We will continue to develop the game to serve existing fans and attract new players and expect the game to continue selling well.”
Alan Wake 2 has sold 50% more copies in its first 2 months than Control did in its first 4 months. Since its release in 2019, Control has sold over 4 million units. It seems like Alan Wake 2 is well underway to surpass this number. Remedy will continue to promote Alan Wake 2 as various new features (photo mode) and two DLC packages are still underway.
