Even though Alan Wake II is still scheduled for release in 2023, it has remained silent around Remedy’s upcoming horror survival game. We’ve openly speculated on Twitter the game might be scheduled for a release in October. October seems the perfect month for a horror game to release in, and also right before the holidays.
Some exciting news popped up earlier today. Matthew Poretta was featured in the latest episode of the podcast Monsters, Madness, and Magic. After introducing Poretta, the host quickly switches topics. Alan Wake II is being discussed (around the 16-minute mark), and Poretta tells the host the game targets an October release. Other than that, Poretta doesn’t really reveal much else, except that every time he got to see the game, he was amazed by what Remedy had created.
Matthew Poretta is the voice actor of Alan Wake, and hearing this from him directly makes the information very credible. However, until the word is officially out, the game might still slip passed the aimed 2023 release window and move into the new year. A new trailer can drop any day now, A very likely moment would be the PlayStation or Xbox showcases scheduled next week. If it drops, you know the place where to find more about it!
Update: the game is due to release on October 17th, 2023. Read more here.
