Now the holidays are past us, the world still battling a global epidemic, it’s time to look forward and focus on all the good that’s coming in 2021. Publisher 505 Games and game developer Remedy couldn’t have kicked off the year any better: Control Ultimate Edition is coming to PlayStation Plus in February!
That means PS Plus subscribers will be able to add the Ultimate Edition to their PS4 and PS5 (!) library, free of charge, and play as long as they remain subscribed to the service. An incredible value for money deal!
The Ultimate Edition comes packed with the latest patches and both DLCs. The PS5 edition also includes a ton of ‘next-Gen’ improvements; 60FPS Performance mode, 30FPS Graphics mode with ray-tracing, and support for DualSense. It even supports the console’s Game Help feature for hints and walkthroughs to help you solve puzzles and overcome challenges as you explore the Oldest House.
Savegames from the PS4 or Standard Edition of Control will not carry over, as the engine is improved in a vast number of ways. Before you start complaining, that also means you can get the trophies again as they are a separate set on next-gen (easy plat with cheats!….. wait, I didn’t say that out loud, did I?).
Control Ultimate Edition will be available on February 2nd for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. While Xbox Series X and PS5 will support ray-tracing, Series S will only support 60FPS Performance mode.
