Actor Peter Franzén has been cast in Alan Wake 2. Born in 1971, Franzén has had a long career in Finland and abroad. However, Alan Wake 2 will be the first videogame he’ll appear in. Internationally, Franzén is best known for his role in the drama series Vikings, as King Harald Finehair.
Franzén will play a dual role, as he’ll be playing the brothers Jaakko and Ilmo Koskela. The actor told Ilta Sonomat that he loves how Finnish heritage, tradition, and mythology are brought to an (international)game of this scale. As Ahti did in Control before, Franzén will give Alan Wake 2 that Finnish touch!
“New challenges always fascinate, and here I had the chance to play twin brothers. These kinds of challenges are always interesting for an actor. You are allowed to add little nuances that can separate the characters. I also enjoyed that we shot so many live-action scenes, so I was able to portray these characters in the way I imagined.” Peter explains.
Considering many live-action scenes were shot, it doesn’t sound like Peter’s involvement is minor. Both brothers might play a significant role in the story of Alan Wake 2. At least one of the brothers seems to be a member of a motor club, as revealed by the sign on his jacket. It will be interesting to see how their story unfolds!
