After speculating for months, Remedy has finally revealed a remasted edition of Alan Wake is coming! Due to arrive this fall on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. That means for the first time, Alan Wake will finally be playable on PlayStation! The game will be published by Epic Games.
What makes the announcement even more special was that Remedy chose to do it on The Sudden Stop. The renowned Remedy fansite is owned and moderated by Rachel Perkins, our friend. For her, this must have been amazing to do. Remedy really loves its community, and for them to announce a new project through a fan site is the highest form of recognition one can get! Congrats Rachel.
On the site, Sam Lake himself wrote a letter confirming development on the game is nearly complete. Although the game will be “the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago.” it will feature increased resolution, enhanced visuals, and new commentary by Sam Lake. Incredibly exciting! Read Lake’s letter in full by clicking here. It’s an ode to the community and Rachel’s work!
Alan Wake sequel
With today’s news, speculations about a sequel are back in full. When Remedy partnered with Epic Games, details were disclosed the companies were working on two games set in the same universe. One smaller-scale game (which many believe this remaster to be) and one fully-fledged AA experience set in the same universe. If Alan Wake Remasted is indeed the smaller-scale game, the future is incredibly bright (see what I did there? Flashlight? Bright?)!
More details about the Alan Wake Remasted edition are likely to be released soon. What do you think about today’s news? Is Remedy also working on Alan Wake 2? Let us know in the comments!
