Our beloved writer finally reemerged from the darkness! Alan Wake Remastered is coming on October 5th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and for the first time ever – on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 with full DualSense support.
During tonight’s PlayStation Showcase event, this new and long-anticipated version of Alan Wake was revealed in full with a brand new trailer. Together with the wizards over at d3t, Remedy has been hard at work to make sure to make this familiar story fit for a new generation.
While the core gameplay remains untouched, the game has received various graphical improvements.
The game is now running in 4K 60FPS on the current-gen hardware, while last-generation hardware setups will give the player a choice between performance (60fps) and quality(30fps) modes. The game’s character models also received a touch-up, as well as the cutscenes, lip-sync, and environmental details. The game will, sadly, not support HDR or Ray Tracing.
The game’s website, alanwake.com, has been updated for this new edition. Complete with screenshot comparisons, an FAQ that might answer some of your remaining questions, and last but not least, options to pre-order the game.
