Earlier this week, Xbox teased gamers with a promise to reveal more about the upcoming Alan Wake 2 DLC, “The Lake House,” during their Partner Preview livestream. The DLC is set to launch on October 22nd, so it won’t be long before we uncover what went wrong at the mysterious research facility.
In the DLC, players step into the shoes of FBC Agent Esteves, portrayed by Janina Gavankar. Esteves leads the unit sent to Bright Falls to monitor and investigate the paranormal events surrounding Cauldron Lake after Alan Wake’s disappearance. During her investigation, she is inexplicably drawn to the research facility, only to face the terrifying horrors lurking within.
Playing asof Agent Esteves provides a unique perspective on the horror-experience, that of an dedicated FBC Field Agent. “The Lake House” introduces an entirely new area, designed to expand the story and intensify the horror elements established in Alan Wake 2. The DLC also brings new enemies (the Painted), weapons, and further deepens the connections within the Remedy Connected Universe (the trailer includes Dylan Faden at the end – will he play a pivotal role in this story?)
“The Lake House” will be available to all owners of the Deluxe Edition of Alan Wake 2. In addition, Deluxe Edition players will receive an exclusive bonus: Alan Wake’s iconic elbow-patch jacket and hoodie outfit from the original game!
Last but not least, the upcoming title update for Alan Wake 2 will introduce a variety of new accessibility options. These features allow players to tailor the experience to their preferences, with options like invulnerability and unlimited resources, ensuring a more customizable gameplay experience.
