Virtala has led Remedy since August 2016, guiding the company through a period of growth, international partnerships, and successful game launches. According to the official statement, his departure is the result of a mutual agreement between him and the Board of Directors. Virtala will remain with the company for a transition period to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities. It’s unclear whether the recent FBC: Firebreak, which failed to meet expectations, played any role in this decision.
