The first day in a whole week (dubbed ‘Bright Falls Week‘) dedicated to celebrating the 10th anniversary of Alan Wake has almost come to an end. And what a day it has been. We’ve many exciting things to cover so without further ado, let’s get to it!
10th anniversary competition
The first big event of the day was the reveal of a competition hosted by Remedy in which fans could win a unique Maglite Flashlight! The competition is live in the official Remedy Discord as well as on various fansites such as The Sudden Stop, ComunidadRemedy (Spanish speaking), and our own. Matthew Poretta Interview
The Sudden Stop also revealed an exclusive interview with Matthew Poretta, the voice actor of Alan Wake, and more recently Dr. Darling (Control, 2019). The site’s owner, Rachel, revealed it was a life long dream of her’s to interview Poretta. While reading the interview, the passion she has put in this project is noticeably present and is a major factor in the fun chemistry the two seem to have. Alan Wake is coming to Game Pass
Starting May 21st, Alan Wake will be available on Game Pass on both Xbox and PC. If you’re subscribed to the service, you should absolutely give the game a go. If you have already played Alan Wake in the past, why not load it up again and reminiscence?

The Remedy stream starring Sam Lake, Matthew Poretta & Ilkka Villi
To officially kick-off Bright Falls Week, Remedy organized a stream on Twitch that starred Sam Lake (Writer, Creative Director), Matthew Poretta (Voice of Alan Wake), and Ilkka Villi (Face of Alan Wake). Remedy’s Community Manager Vida Starcevic acted as a host and made sure some questions sent in by the community got answered. The three mostly reminisced how it was working on Alan Wake and what sort of challenges they faced along the way or how it influenced their work beyond the game. It was a great show and Sam lake spoke with great detail about the development process and his sources of inspiration. If you’d like to watch back the stream, click here.
Starting today, all up to May 20th, Remedy is partnering up with various streamers who will broadcast a playthrough of Alan Wake. Some of these have experienced the game in the past, while others are playing it for the very first time. For a complete schedule of all the streams planned, click here.
