Howdy, citizens of Bright Falls! It’s been quite some time since you last heard from me. I’ve been caught up in a number of affairs to ensure your safety in the current unfortunate predicament. You’ll also be relieved to know the 78th annual Deerfest is (as of now) still happing this September.
I hope you and your loved ones are all safe, reading my letter from the comfort of your homes. Please be aware, starting this week, short strolls to Mirror’s Peak and Cauldron Lake are allowed again. With each passing day, I’m still amazed by how beautiful our little town is. Especially during springtime.
Rules
Also, a word of advice when visiting Cauldron Lake. Ten years have passed since the famous writer, Alan Wake has gone missing. Most of us still cherish fond memories of our beloved writer of thrillers. In order to honor his name, I’ve teamed up with his publishing partner Remedy for a little competition. If you’d like to enter this competition, please make sure to read the rules here first. The task is as follows:
How to enter
To enter, share a memory of Alan Wake in a format of your choice (writing, digital/traditional art, photography, cosplay, etc). Post your entry in the competition channel in the official Remedy Entertainment Discord or enter by leaving a comment below this post. Your written entries should not exceed 400 words. If you are submitting your entry in a different format, you can include supporting text of no more than 100 words.
The Prize
Apart from his typewriter, Mr. Wake was especially fond of his flashlight. For this reason, we felt it was appropriate to make available to you as a prize: a mini Maglite flashlight with the Alan Wake 10th anniversary logo, which comes in a hand-numbered and signed box. There is no alternative prize. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing your amazing creations, touching stories, or incredible cosplay. The competition closes on Thursday, May 21st, at 10 AM EEST, so be sure to leave your comment on time. Remedy employees will decide on the winners. The competition is open to entrants worldwide.
I’ll have to end this letter now. Some chap from New York is next on the schedule. Said he was from the Federal Bureau of Control. Well, we all know I dislike bureaucracy and am more fond of parties! Good luck in the competition. Until we meet again, stay safe.
Your Mayor, Patrick Streutjens.
