In a short tweet, without mention of a date, Remedy announced it will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alan Wake on stream and with “other cool stuff”. Alan Wake released on the 14th of May, 2010. It’s likely the festivities will take place on our around that date.
Our light-wielding hero turns ten and while blowing out the candles might not be a very good idea (see, light fends off the darkness!), surely there must be cake. Alan Wake never received a proper sequel but that doesn’t mean the franchise is dead and forgotten. Quite the contrary, many Remedy fans (including us) have Alan Wake in high regard. Both Quantum Break and Control featured Alan Wake easter-eggs, keeping the rumor mill of a possible imminent return alive.
That return might be sooner than we think! Remedy has publicly announced work on an Alan Wake TV-Show not long after it managed to re-acquire the publishing rights from Microsoft. In addition, Control’s second story DLC called “AWE” is also rumored to feature the character based on the artwork used to announce it.
Either way, if you do not want to miss out on anything, you know already know the website you’re looking at now is your go-to place. Happy Deer Fest weekend!
