For more than a decade, I’ve been hoping for this moment to come. We’ve all been hoping for this moment to come. It feels so unreal to have seen the headlines this morning. The word is finally out, and our prayers are finally being answered: Alan Wake 2 is coming in 2023! I’m beyond excited! Ever since I’ve read the news this morning, I’m wearing a non-erasable smile!
The surprise announcement happened last night during the annual The Game Awards, hosted by Geoff Keighley. A short teaser was shown, in which we see a drastically different Alan Wake (he seems more battle-weary, with unkempt hair) in the center of Bright Falls. Or at least a version of it. The teaser and the narration that goes with it seem to hint Alan Wake 2 is embracing the horror-survival genre even more than the first game. I love it. Without further ado, watch the trailer here:
Alan Wake 2 has been a long time coming. Ever since the release of the original, fans around the globe have been – quite literally – begging Remedy for a sequel. Without a doubt, Alan Wake 2 is big for Remedy too. The studio never made it a secret they wanted to continue Wake’s story. However, they needed to cross a lot of hurdles first. Now all of those hurdles have been crossed, Remedy is finally making our dream come true.
We’ve been speculating and hoping for years. It’s finally over. It’s finally happening. I’m so HAPPY! It will take 2 more years before we get the game in our hands. It’s scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2023. What’re two more years?!
