Remedy is preparing to open a subsidiary in Stockholm, Sweden! The Finland-based studio is expanding to Sweden next year and plans to have around 25 employees at the site. These details were released today as part of the company’s third-quarter business review.
Working remotely has enabled Remedy to hire various Sweden-based developers to join the studio and work fully remotely. There are currently 9 employees working from Sweden, and the studio has plans to expand to a total of 25 next year. However, all that is missing is a place in which they can gather. Looking for a place in which they could gather, felt like the logical next step. We’re human after all, and sometimes we need to connect.
The new studio will be led by two veteran game designers; Johannes Mang and James Salt, who both worked at DICE in key roles on games like Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront. According to Mang, the studio is currently on the hunt for a locale. A formal presence in Sweden should have been established early next year.
