Last night, during Microsoft’s 20th anniversary Xbox event, the company announced 76 new games are being added to the Xbox Backwards Compatibility library. Most notably, the entire Max Payne franchise!
The addition of the new games came somewhat as a surprise after Microsoft announced in late 2019 it had no further plans to expand the library. However, the 20th anniversary of Xbox seemed like the perfect time to add some games that the community kept asking for. A pretty cool gesture! Some of these titles support “FPS Boost”, but sadly, the Max Payne games do not.
While its online multiplayer component might be offline, the Max Payne 3 single-player campaign remains one of the more controversial, yet cherished, stories by fans. As there are no know plans for an official remaster (and god, do we want one!), the backward compatibility of these games is much welcome and will prevent these games from oblivion.
