Today is Alan Wake’s 12th anniversary! To celebrate the occasion, Remedy released a video with a development update on Alan Wake 2, among some other news. In the video, Remedy’s community manager Vida Starčević is joined by Sam Lake, Illka Villi and Matthew Poretta. The crew talks about how it was getting the call Alan Wake 2 was finally happening, as well as the changes to the titular hero’s character in the sequel.
Lake also explains that, while we were promised we’d see more of Alan Wake 2 this summer, that’s not going to happen. Lake continued that a great deal of the game is done and playable, however, putting the team to work on a demo or trailer right now would mean they are taken from active development. Having said that, Lake does add Alan Wake 2 is Remedy’s very first attempt at creating a horror survival game, and they want to make sure they are creating the best experience possible. The video does give us a glimpse of the atmosphere to expect, as various concept art pieces are shown during the interview, making the video a must-see for fans of the first hour!
