When Remedy and d3t partnered to remaster the 2010 Xbox 360 classic Alan Wake, they did so with one clear goal in mind: to preserve the original experience but elevating the graphics to modern standards in order to present the game to an entirely new audience.
If you’re interested to learn how that process looked like in detail, Remedy wrote an extensive article over at Xbox Wire that leaves no stone unturned. Just about everything in the game has been retouched: animations, character models, and the environment. It gives an idea of the scale that went into this remaster and the love and respect everyone has for the source material. It’s not your typical bump in resolution and framerate release. It’s much more! To show some of the changes in action, Remedy also released a comparison trailer.
Alan Wake Remastered is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 5. That’s a week from now! If you would like to learn more about Alan Wake Remastered, be sure to check out the FAQ on the official site or view the screenshot gallery which contains much more comparisons! Are you ready to wield the light again?!
