The Game Awards, the annual awards ceremony honoring outstanding achievements in the videogame industry, announced their nominees for this year’s awards. Winners are to be announced on December 12.
Much like The Golden Joysticks, The Game Awards is an industry-recognized event that as an advisory committee that includes representatives from various hardware and software manufacturers. Previous “Game of the Year” awards have gone to titles such as Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and God of War (2018). The game that will take this prestigious award home in 2019 remains to be seen, but both Control and Death Stranding are currently leading the pack.
Control, in particular, has been nominated for a staggering amount: 8 categories to be precise. Those categories are Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Performance: Courtney Hope (Jesse Faden), Best Performance: Matthew Porretta (Dr. Casper Darling), Best Audio Design, Best Action/Adventure Game, Best Game Direction, Game of the Year.
