If you’ve been playing Control chances are high you’ve encountered a song by Poets of The Fall called ‘My Dark Disquiet’. The song is featured on the band’s latest album, Ultraviolet. The inclusion of the song marks another high in the partnership between the Finnish pop/rock band and videogame developer. The band was previously involved with producing music for Max Payne 2 and Alan Wake and as a result, many Remedy fans have the band in high regard.
A music video for the song premiered yesterday. Fans of Control might notice the appearance of a red bakelite telephone, which is featured prominently in the game.
In addition to ‘My Dark Disquiet’, the band produced a completely new song written specifically for the game. The song is called ‘Take Control’ and is based on a story by Sam Lake (Control’s Creative Director). Near the end, players receive a walkman from Ahti which is needed to progress further in the game. The song is the key to venture through the Ashtray Maze.
I’ve embedded both songs below for your hearing pleasure. Enjoy and let us know in the comments which Poets of the Fall song you fancy most!
