In the long and rich history of the Remedy community, there has never been a shortage of fan created content. Over the course of several years I have seen some amazing mods, artworks, fan films and websites. Some of those projects never saw the light of day or were eventually disbanded. Long time fans might still remember hubs like Levels4You, Max Payne Headquarters and The Deep Six. Keeping your website relevant up and running is no easy feat (hell, even PayneReactor has various ups and downs and a slew of disbanded projects – remember WakeReactor or ForzaReactor?) and thus the ones that do deserve recognition every now and then.
Because of this very reason, I’d like to take some time to celebrate the 7th anniversary of The Sudden Stop. What started out as a Alan Wake fan site quickly turned into a hub of all things Remedy. The website’s owner, Rachel, has become one of our closest friends and is a true blessing to have around. Her work is an inspiration and she often manages to dig up some of the best fan created content around. When she’s unable to highlight the work of others, she’s not afraid to walk the extra mile in order to create content of her own that is no other than superb.
Rachel shared a post of her own on The Sudden Stop, elaborating on the sites history and reminiscing on how it all came to be. Her work already had a in-erasable impact on our community and I can only hope she will keep doing so for many more years to come. Let’s raise our glasses to that!
