In an unexpected turn of events, Alan Wake has returned to the Steam store! Alan Wake was removed from digital stores & Steam somewhere last year due to the expiration of their licensed music deal. In a short announcement, made on the Remedy twitter profile, the Finnish developer shared the news of Wake’s return (insert Quantum Break reference here) with the world. Apparently Microsoft was successfully able to re-negotiate the deal, allowing the publisher to continue the sales of the game through Steam. All of the music remains intact. The game will also return on the Xbox Marketplace but neither Remedy or Microsoft have revealed a date. “Very soon” is what gamers on Xbox will have to do with for now. For those who already own Alan Wake, nothing will change.
If you’re a newcomer to the Remedy community and are looking forward to play Control; Please know that Matthew Poretta (who will play Dr. Caspar Darling) is the voice of Alan Wake. This is your chance to experience his talent, before the game might disappear again from digital stores in the future. The game is also receiving a hefty discount to celebrate Halloween: it currently is 80% off in my region (NL/EU). You can pick it up for as cheap as 2 Euro and 50 cents, click here.
