The gates to the E3 show floor opened yesterday and 505 Games and Remedy are demonstrating Control behind closed doors. It has been a busy few days already for the team of Remedy developers that’s present, having spent quite some time with media and influencers to tell (and show) them all about their new game.
The team felt ready to share a bit more about Jesse’s origins and her motivation to go to the Oldest House. During the E3 YouTube show, Mikael Kasurinen (Game Director) revealed Jesse experienced a supernatural event in her youth together with her brother. Apparently the FBC got word of this and quickly came in to try and abduct the two. Jesse managed to escape but her brother was taken, never to be seen again. Jesse, who was never able to cope with her brother’s abduction, is left with many questions and decides to seek out the FBC. When she finally managed to find their location, she decides to go there to find out what happened to her brother..
As you might be aware, all of Control takes place within The Oldest House. A large shifting place with portals to other dimensions. The team went to great lengths to give the place a unique look and feel. Control is one of the first games to release with a spectacular implementation of Nvidia’s RTX technologies. We’ve already received a tease of how Ray-tracing will look in Control. However, yesterday Nvidia and Remedy released a new trailer that demonstrates how reflections, contact shadows, diffuse global illumination and transparent reflections will look in Control when RTX is enabled. Truly magnificent. Destruction never looked so good!
